Result: Urlaur Utd V Kiltimagh/Knock U15s

By

Whenever i see K/K on our fixtures list it always sends a shiver down my spine.. after a sending off, a broken arm and a twisted knee they have always somehow managed to beat us normally only just.. but our performance tonight was pure magic.. you played out of your skins and you managed to break the 'curse of kiltimagh/Knock'

Having held them for the first half to 0-0 playing, pressing, passing superbly.. the best performance of the season by far! You made our job difficult as to who to change to allow the subs on...

Into the second half with the starting 11 we went.. you started exactly as you finished the first half with some first class football.. and it was long until you were rewarded for you efforts a clinical finish from our pocket rocket Cathal after a brilliant cross (comment below as i cant remember who sent the cross in) K/K were visably stunned and stepped up the shirt pulling and tried to put us off with 'can we use the other ball'

Our defense was strong throughout with some critical challenges made by all of the back four, Gavin and Niall in the center again

Result: Ballyglass B V Urlaur Utd (U15s)

By

A stunning match, the first half we had all the possesion and with their first attack mid-way through they caught us with a sucker punch, from an off-side position.. I must admit I thought 'oh no here we go again...' our heads dropped a little but we started to put pressure back on once we'd got over the shock and we were all over Ballyglass.. and we deserved to be at least 2 up at half time...

The second half started where the first finished with us all over Ballyglass, only to be denied by some way-ward shots and some good defending by Ballyglass, they absorbed some tremendous pressure and it was only a matter of time until their disipline broke and when Cathal was brought down in the box, our opportunity to draw level was handed to us, Cathal cooly converted... again from the re-start you guys were brilliant... pushing forward, passing sweetly and really working hard and with just moments left you got what you rightly deserved the WINNER!!

Lads the passion that you had this evening  and is in you all, needs to be available everytime you go out there and face the opposition regardless of who

Result: Fahy Rovers V Urlaur Utd (U15s)

By

With the referee arriving 40 minutes late and having to hang around in the very wet & windy conditions, we lost focus and when we finally got under way on a pitch that really wasn't suitable for grazing cattle on & the days earlier gaa matches looked to have drained all the energy.

The score line at the final whistle flattered us, as we missed out on countless opportunities to runaway with the game, hitting almost every inch of the goal posts.

Not going to say more about the game, just that we'll speak to you all on Tuesday @ training.

Result: Kiltimagh/Knock 2 V Urlaur Utd 1 (U15s)

By

A delayed kick off, an injured player and a loss... (I'll be stopping off at the shrine on the way to that pitch in future!!)

Its another loss that wasn't deserved, a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside (that wasnt) would have brought us right bak into the game after gong behind early on.. Shanes injury rattled the team, which is understandable.

Take heart in your performance of the second half, we won that! When shove comes to push we should have got atleast a draw out of that match we created enough chances but we just couldn't make the final ball count!

I dont want to dwell on that match they still have to come to us...

We need to totally re-focus put this match behind us and get back on the winning side on Saturday..

See you @ the pitch 1.30pm for a 2pm KO. Take care for the rest of the week, dont pick up any injuries I need you all fit and ready to show the Blue Bombers we mean business!

Result: Urlaur Utd V Ballyglass 'B' (U15)

By

A soft goal conceaded in the first 2 minutes, see us chasing the game for 10 minutes, but then with his 2nd goal of the season Ronan levels for us, from that point we were in control with some great crosses from the wings and some fast breaks down the middle the Ballyglass boys didnt know where the attack was coming from and they got anoyed turning there tempers on us, the ref and their coaches.. We kept calm and focused and with a further 2(Dylan & Cathal) went in at half time 3-1 up..

The second half started well for us, but we seemed to lose shape & concentration and Ballyglass soon put us under pressure and pulled one back.. 3-2 we were in a game now, but we still didnt seem aware of the danger they posed and before long they hit us for another GAME ON.. all-square 3-3!!

All of a sudden we remembered that we were in a football match and everything seemed to fall back into place and applied the pressure again.. and as I have said before the spirit of Urlaur Utd shone through.. the never give up attitude kicked in and before long

Result: Cornboy V Urlaur Utd (u15s)

By

Urlaur Utd U15's made the long trip to a very hostile Cornboy this evening and got off the the perfect start, 2 minutes in and we were one up,  and thats when things got picky from the Cornboy point of view.. screams of 'handball' anytime we controlled the ball on the chest, moans of 'ahh c'mon ref' anytime we made a challenge.. even though they played with arms up, trying to wear our jerseys with all the shirt tugging.... we played sweet football.

There was just one slip up mid way through the first half when we failed to deal with a corner and they got a goal.. but at half time we were well in control..

The second half was dominated by us, we made important challenges, and the passing was impeccable! A pure joy to watch and be a part of.. and you know when you're doing well when there's praise coming from the sideline..

So with 10 minutes to go... and my ears taking a bashing from the hometeam support moaning about everything in a blue jersey or in black we knocked in our 7th and the home team then withdrew.. huh?? Along with a direct comment

Urlaur Utd V Fahey Rovers (U15's)

By

An incredible match, from the first whistle to the last. You all put 100% effort in learnt from the Snugboro game, calmed down and got the result that you deserved. A joy to watch, congrats to Dylan R. for getting his first goal and Cathal for his 2 (have we got our 'goal-machine' back? only time will tell)

Great game lads, see you on Tuesday

Snugboro V Urlaur Utd (U15's)

By

With 80% of the possesion I just don't know how the match ended the way it did, Snugboro only had 4 attacks throughout the whole match and converted 3 oportunities and we only scored once...

The quality of most of our play was superb and we out played them with every touch, we just got tired and our fitness let us down..the result does not reflect the match or your ability and I still believe that we are a strong team punching well above our weight.

Believe in your own abilities and our first 3 point are just around the corner...

Well done to Niall for getting his first goal of 2011

Urlaur Utd v S&F (U15's)

By

no it's not 2 teams (literally), well the season got off to a shakey start with a performance that we can take a lot from. S&F were a strong team to kick off against and in some ways that is best, we need to calm things down a little, look before passing and comunicate more... how many times have you heard that? 1-3 is a loss but not a hammering and ove the coming weeks we will turn that score line around.

Congratulations to Shane C. for scoring on his debut.
